South Dakota State 6, North Dakota State 3
BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State topped North Dakota State in the first game of a four-game Summit League series on Friday at Erv Huether Field.
The Bison scored two runs in the sixth inning to tie the game 2-2, but SDSU scored two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth after the Bison scored a run in the top of the inning.

The Bison drew eight walks but just three hits off SDSU pitchers Arlen Peters, Tristan Augedahl and Dylan Driessen, who got the win. The trio struck out nine.
NDSU’s Davis Hamilton was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Alex Urlaub had the Bison’s only other hit.
NDSU is 10-8 in the Summit League and 13-24 overall. The teams play again in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26. The 2 p.m. Saturday game was rescheduled from March 29.

West Fargo Horace sweeps Wahpeton
WAHPETON — West Fargo Horace scored 20 runs in sweeping a pair of games in Wahpeton on Friday.
In the first game, Horace had a pair of four-run innings en route to a 8-5 win. Austin Ohleen struck out nine in five scoreless innings on the mound. At the plate, Ohleen was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a double. Matthew Dick scored two runners and walked twice.
Aiden Hajek was 3-for-4 for Wahpeton. Dylan Vierstraete finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
In the second game, a 12-1 Horace win, Brody Strahm was 2-for-3 with a home run and knocked in 3 RBIs. Cason Borchardt was 3-for-5, driving in a pair. Caden Rademacher pitched six innings, only allowing two hits and one run while striking out six.

Horace is 8-2 in Eastern Dakota Conference points and 10-3 overall. Wahpeton is 2-6 in EDC points and 2-5 overall.
Bruins, Mustangs split a pair
WEST FARGO — Fargo South and West Fargo Sheyenne split a doubleheader on Friday, with the Mustangs blanking the Bruins 7-0 in game one, and the Bruins piling up the runs in a 15-3 win in game two.
In the first game, Sheyenne’s Parker Henrich fired a three-hitter, walking two and striking out six.
The Mustangs’ Tate Herrmann was 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI, and Hudson Dinger doubled and had two RBI. Jaxon Zavadil was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
In the second game, Fargo South’s Carson Shiek was 4-for-5 with four RBI, while Caden Nelson and Hunter Giere each drove in three runs.
Hermann was 3-for-3 with two RBI for West Fargo Sheyenne.

South is 8-4 overall and 7-1 in Eastern Dakota Conference points. Sheyenne is 7-6 overall and 3-7 in EDC points..
Shanley, Devils Lake split two
DEVILS LAKE — Fargo Shanley rallied for a win in the second game to earn a split of an Eastern Dakota Conference doubleheader with Devils Lake on Friday.
Devils Lake took the first game 8-0 but the Deacons escaped with a 3-2 victory in the second game.
In the first game, Firebirds starter Parker Brodina threw a one-hitter. Brodina allowed one walk and struck out five in seven innings. Trason Beck tripled and scored two runners.
Shanley’s Ryan Ommen had the lone hit and Quinn Miller walked.
In game two, Shanley scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, and Deacons pitcher Landon Hale survived some nervous moments in the seventh to close out the win.
In the bottom of the seventh, Devils Lake loaded the bases on two walks and a double, but Shanley got a force out at home on a ground ball, another runner was caught stealing home, and the game ended on a foul tip.

Hale went the distance, allowing two runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. He also was 3-for-4. George Giobres had a hit and an RBI.
Shanley is 3-3 in EDC points and 3-5 overall. Devils Lake is 2-4 in EDC points and 3-4 overall.
Davies sweeps Valley City
FARGO — The Fargo Davies Eagles swept the Valley City Hi-Liners in an Eastern Dakota Conference doubleheader on Friday night.
The Eagles won both games in five innings with scores of 12-2 in the first game and 16-1 in the second.
In the first game, the Eagles scored eight runs in the final two innings to power the win. Starter Cayden Neuharth earned the win on the mound, allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out seven in five innings. Wyatt Kosidowski had three singles and drove in a pair of runners. Gus Pankratz was 2-for-3.
Valley City’s James Schwer, Corbyn Powell and Luke Praska had the Hi-Liners’ hits.
Davies plated 12 runs in the second inning to capture the second game. Kade Ohlhauser was 3-for-4. Kosidowski and Pankratz both had two hits. Kade Ohlhauser worked all five innings on the mound, granting zero runs on two hits and six strikeouts.

Powell and Chase Coughlan had the lone hits for Valley City.
Davies rose to 9-1 in EDC points and 11-1 overall.
Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 10, Crookston 1 (F/5 inn.)
CROOKSTON — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton starter Dylan Anderson dealt a one-hitter to power the Rebels past Crookston in five innings on Friday.
Anderson granted zero earned runs, zero walks and had eight strikeouts in the win. The Rebels vaulted 7-0 after the first inning. Wes Hoover doubled in a three hit night. Zander Deutsch had two RBIs and Logan Thune doubled.
Crookston’s Parker Kelly had the lone hit and Isaiah Donarski knocked in the only Pirates run.
DGF rose to 6-1. Crookston is 1-4.
Softball
Minot 8, West Fargo 7
MINOT — West Fargo’s last-ditch rally fell just short against Minot on Friday.

Minot led 8-3 heading into the seventh inning. The Packers scored a run on a fielder’s choice and Claire Osland followed with a three-run home run, but Minot got a fly out to end the game.
West Fargo’s Katelyn Kackman was 4-for-4 with an RBI, and Osland was 3-for-4 with the homer and three RBI. Kendall Krenz and Brooklyn Williams, who doubled, both had two hits. Abby Arneson doubled and drove in two runs.
Minot North 17, West Fargo 4
MINOT — Minot North’s Aven Kelly homered and drove in six runs in a non-conference win over West Fargo on Friday.
West Fargo’s Katelyn Kackman was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, Kendall Krenz doubled and had an RBI, and Grace Vetter was 2-for-3 with a double.
West Fargo is 5-8 overall.
WF Horace 21, GF Central 8
GRAND FORKS — West Fargo Horace powered up its offense and cruised to an Eastern Dakota Conference win over Grand Forks Central on Friday.
The Hawks led 11-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, but Central drew close with eight runs in the bottom of the inning. Horace responded with a 10-run fifth inning.
Horace’s Tristyn Struck was 5-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and he scored five runs. Austi Brandt was 5-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI. Katrin Flanagan was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI, and McKenna Mohs was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI.
Horace is 6-2 in EDC points and 7-2 overall. Central is 0-6 in EDC points and 0-9 overall.
Fargo Shanley 9, Devils Lake 2
FARGO — Fargo Shanley scored all its runs in the first three innings of an Eastern Dakota Conference game against Devils Lake on Friday.
Alexa Gregg was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs batted in. Hailey Dingmann, Taelyn Card and Sarah Sim all had a hit and two RBI. Emily Anderson was 2-for-3. Card pitched all seven innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits. She walked one and struck out 10.
Shanley is 2-0 in EDC points and 1-3 overall. Devils Lake is 2-4 in EDC points and 3-2 overall.
Fargo Davies 12, Fargo South 1
FARGO — Elle Mann and Maizey Carr both hit home runs and combined Ellie Steinlicht to drive in eight runs batted in in Fargo Davies’ Eastern Dakota Conference win over Fargo South on Friday.
Carr was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI, Steinlicht was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI, and Mann was 1-for-3 with two RBI. Ava Bolton was 3-for-3 with an RBI, Sophie Rerick was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Julia Nybakken doubled twice. Olivia Davidson doubled and Reese Dietrich was 2-for-3.
Mann went all five innings, allowing a run on four hits while walking two and striking out seven.
South’s Ava Klein was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
South is 0-11 in EDC points and 0-6 overall. Davies is 5-3 in EDC points and 5-5 overall.
North, Bismarck split doubleheader
BISMARCK — Fargo North and Bismarck split a non-conference doubleheader on Friday.
Bismarck took the opener 6-2 but North rebounded for a 25-13 victory in game two.
In the first game, Bismarck plated four runs in the second inning and outhit North 11-9. Cameron Braun was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Mya Jones worked all seven innings, permitting two runs on nine hits with six strikeouts. Jones hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.
North’s Aubrey King doubled twice in a three-hit game. Charlotte Duff and Olivia Kalbus both finished 2-for-3. Jada Purdy had four strikeouts in the loss.
In the second game, North hit four home runs, with Sonja Gorder going 4-for-5 with two homers and six RBI. Olivia Kalbus homered and tripled and drove in three runs. Aubrey King was 4-for-5 with four RBI and Kenleigh Fischer was 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI. Ainsley Ness had three hits and four RBI and Quinn Buckmiller had three hits and three RBI.
North is 5-2 overall.
Moorhead 16, Monticello 5
MONTICELLO, Minn. — Rylie Spitzner hit two home runs and was one of five Moorhead players with multiple runs batted in in the Spuds’ win over Monticello on Friday.
Spitzner was 3-for-5 with four RBI. Payton Babolian was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, and Taylor Kressin, who doubled, and Kenadi Kays, who homered, both had three hits and two RBI. Kellsey Kuldt had two hits and three RBI. Kays went all seven innings to earn the win.
Moorhead is 4-4 overall while Monticello is now 0-6 overall.
Boys lacrosse
Monticello 8, Moorhead 7
MONTICELLO, Minn. — The Moorhead Spuds’ late game efforts fell short in a loss to Monticello on Friday night.
Carter Midthune and Rylan Overbo both netted two goals for Moorhead. Coen Welle, Joe Hapka and Carson Kuntz also scored for Moorhead.
Moorhead fell to 3-2 overall. Monticello is 3-3 overall.
