Request a new card

  • Cards arrive within 7–10 days.
  • Transactions are reflected in your Available to Withdraw balance and are posted to your account within 5 business days.
  • Additional HSA debit cards are mailed directly to the account owner's address.
  • Purchases are deducted daily from your HSA.
  • You can find more information about qualified medical expenses on the IRS website.

Replace a card

You can request a replacement card on the Fidelity debit cardLog In Required page if your card was:

  • Lost or stolen
  • Not received
  • Damaged or cannot be read

For cards that were lost or stolen, prompt action is recommended to protect your account from unauthorized activity. You may also use the Lock card feature if you need time to search for the card.

For cards nearing expiration, your new card is sent automatically on or before the 15th of the expiration month on the front of your card.

Replacement cards arrive within 7–10 days.

Change or create a PIN

You can create or change a PIN onlineLog In Required.

Account owners can change the PIN on additional HSA debit cards but will not be allowed to change the PIN on another account owner’s card.

New and updated PINs can be used immediately after they have been successfully submitted.

You can change your PIN once per day.

Set up travel notifications

You can notify us of your travel plans onlineLog In Required, whether you’re traveling in the US or overseas, to help reduce the likelihood of being declined for purchases and transactions.

Travel plans can be provided up to 90 days in advance of your travel date. You can also go online to change or delete previously entered travel plans.

Note: Travel notices established by calling Fidelity will not be available online. To change or delete these plans, please call Fidelity Debit Card Services using the number located on the back of your debit card.

When you use the card in a foreign country, a 1% foreign transaction fee may be included in the amount charged to your account; this charge may apply whether or not there is a currency conversion.

Customers calling from outside the US should use the number on the back of their card to call collect.

Lock my card

To protect your card from use or if it’s been lost or stolen, you can place a temporary lock on your card onlineLog In Required . You may go online to unlock your card at any time.

Locking the card will prevent any new withdrawals or purchases. Recurring transactions, returns, and credit adjustments will still be allowed.

View card limits

ATM/debit cards are issued with daily withdrawal and spending limits. HSA debit cards are issued with daily spending limits.

You can view the daily limits and remaining balance associated with your debit card on the Fidelity debit cardLog In Required page.

  • Daily limits reset each day at 12:00 midnight ET.
  • Daily limits are subject to the Available to Withdraw balance in your account and specific daily transaction limits.

Unblock a debit card or report unauthorized transactions

Call Fidelity Debit Card Services using the number located on the back of your debit card to address any debit card transaction issues.

Customers calling from outside the US should use the number on the back of their card to call collect.

Close a card

You can close your debit card on the Fidelity debit cardLog In Required page.

If there are recurring transactions paid with the card, please provide updated payment information to the merchant(s) before closing the card.

Once you submit the request, your existing card will no longer work.

Once closed, you should destroy the card by cutting across the magnetic stripe and chip.

  • Where can I find my 9-digit health savings account number?

    On your NetBenefits home page, look for the words "Health savings account": your 9-digit HSA number is directly underneath.

    On the NetBenefits summary page for your health savings account, your 9-digit HSA number is at the top of the page.

    On your Portfolio Summary page on Fidelity.com, in the left-hand column, your 9-digit HSA number appears below the words "Health savings account."

    If you access your accounts on your mobile device, go to the listing of your accounts and look for your HSA: your number will be listed.

  • Are there any fees associated with the Fidelity debit cards?

    ATM/debit card

    There's no annual fee on the card. Other institutions may assess fees for use of ATMs in their network. Fidelity® Cash Management Account customers or Fidelity accounts coded Premium, Private Client Group, or Wealth Management or held by customers with householded annual trading activity of 120 or more stock, bond, or options trades, will be reimbursed for ATM fees charged by other institutions.

    HSA debit card

    There are no fees for using HSA debit cards, but the IRS may charge penalties for non-qualified medical expenses.

  • What expenses can I pay for with my HSA debit card?

    HSA debit cards can be used for qualified medical expenses at eligible merchants, such as doctors' offices and pharmacies where Visa® debit cards are accepted. They can't be used at ATM machines or to get cash back on purchases.

  • Where can I use my ATM/debit card?

    Find an ATM location, make purchases, or authorize an automatic debit wherever Visa® is accepted. You can withdraw cash at ATMs worldwide wherever you see the Visa, Plus®, or Star® logos.

  • Why is the pending debit card transaction different from my actual purchase amount?

    Some merchants such as hotels and restaurants are allowed to request an authorization for an estimated amount which may vary from the actual purchase amount. Additionally, gas stations are permitted to request an authorization to confirm your card is open and active. The authorized amount will reduce your Available to Withdraw balance and will be replaced with the actual purchase amount within five business days.

  • My card didn't arrive – what should I do?

    If your card did not arrive you should first check your ProfileLog In Required page to confirm the mailing address on your account is correct.

    Once verified you may request a replacement card on the Fidelity debit cardLog In Required page.

  • My transaction was denied – what should I do?

    If your debit card transaction was denied or your card is blocked, please call Fidelity Debit Card Services using the number located on the back of your card.

  • How do I turn on ATM/debit and HSA debitalerts for my cash management account?

    On your Cash Management AlertsLog In Required page, you can sign up for alerts including Debit Card Usage, which notifies you when a debit card transaction posts to the account or exceeds a dollar threshold you determine.

  • Can I set up my card to use Apple Pay® or Google PayTM?

    Yes, it's easy to add your card to Apple Pay® or Google PayTM. Once you've linked your card, you can enjoy the convenience and security of making payments with your mobile device. Your card must be unlocked before you can add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay.
