Enigma Blanket Part 5 – Free Crochet Pattern (2024)

In this post you can find the pattern and video tutorial for Part 5 of my Enigma Blanket design. In part 5 we start with the second square. From the center of each side we work a triangle until the triangles form the second square, but that will take a while. In this part we are going to make picots, which you either love to make or hate to make, there is usually little in between. Voor Nederlands, zie aub DEZE post.

FAQs

What crochet stitch is not a yarn eater? ›

Try using a V-stitch, filet stitch, or trellis stitch instead of a basic single, double, or treble crochet. These stitches all have spacing that allow for the project to progress without using a ton of yarn.

How do you fix a crochet blanket that is not wide enough? ›

Adding borders or extra rows: One of the simplest ways to increase the width of a crochet blanket is by adding borders or extra rows on each side.

How quickly can I crochet a blanket? ›

In terms of hours – it's takes an average of about 20 hours to complete a crochet Blanket. When using the number of hours as a yardstick, remember that most people would not be sitting down for the whole 20 hours. This might be 2 hours a day for some, or 5 hours a day.

Which crochet stitch builds up the fastest? ›

Typically, the half double crochet and double crochets are the fastest basic stitches for most crocheters. But maybe someone is able to zip through a project consisting entirely of treble crochets in no time. For any crocheter, this is something that they may have to test.

How do you make a blanket fast? ›

A no-sew fleece blanket is an easy way to create a quick blanket by laying two layers of fleece fabric together and cutting strips around the sides of the fabric. Tying those strips together in a balloon knot (just like you would tie a balloon) will give you a finished blanket edge without any sewing!

What is the shortest crochet stitch? ›

The far left is 9 rows of sc, the next swatch is 6 rows of hdc, then 5 rows of double crochet (dc), and far right is 3 rows of treble crochet (tc). Slip stitches are used when you want to move across the row without adding height, and are the shortest of all crochet stitches.
